Zero CO2 and Zero emissions: Contributing through products and calibration technologies*

The transition from current fuels, such as from gasoline to carbon-neutral alternatives, is underway, and society is increasingly calling for zero vehicle emissions of environmentally harmful substances. We will contribute to achieving zero emissions of CO2 and other contaminants by expanding our product range and through fuel vapor emission reduction technologies.

Carbon-Neutral Multi-Fuel Electric Pump

We have developed a fuel pump that achieves both improved fuel efficiency through reduced power requirements and compatibility with diverse fuels. These new technologies contribute to a carbon-neutral society.

In a carbon-neutral society, in addition to improving vehicle fuel efficiency, a key challenge is addressing fuel pump degradation caused by changes in fuel properties due to reduced refueling frequency in HEVs and PHEVs and increased moisture concentration in fuel resulting from the expanded use of biofuels. The fuel pump we have developed achieves world-leading operating efficiency by combining a uniquely designed motor with corrosion-resistant materials while also supporting, as a standard feature, a wide range of fuels used worldwide.

Fuel tank close valve for hybrid vehicles

We have developed a fuel tank shut-off valve for HEVs and PHEVs with a new structure that achieves compactness (volume reduced by approximately 30%) and weight reduction (mass reduced by approximately 50%)* while maintaining hermeticity.
* Compared to conventional products

HEVs and PHEVs exhibit long periods of engine downtime, which can give gasoline vapor collected in the canister the opportunity to leak into the atmosphere. To prevent this, a hermetic valve is installed between the fuel tank and the canister to seal the fuel tank (sealed tank system). Our sealing valves achieve compactness and low weight by adopting a stepping motor actuator. This new technology improves fuel efficiency and loosens vehicle layout constraints. HEVs and PHEVs equipped with these valves are now in use worldwide.
