Won the world's best record in the Lake Saroma 100km Ultramarathon

Mr. Nao Kazami, a former athlete on our long distance team, set a new world record of 6:09:14 and won the first prize in the 33th Lake Saroma 100km Ultramarathon. He crushed the former world record set in the 1998 competition, which was 6:13:33.

After retiring in 2010, Mr. Kazami joined multiple competitions as an amateur runner while working as a full-time employee. In the Ultramarathon, where people run over 50 kilometers, he stood on the podium as an athlete representing Japan in a world competition. With this victory, he earned the right to participate in IAU 100 km which will be held in Croatia in September.
